Bring your notes back as themselves
/imp brings in your notes and files, and a /CMD-Note export now comes back as the same notes, in the same order.
If you export your notes and import them again, you should get your notes back. Not a pile of lookalikes that all claim they were written today.
That's what /imp is for. Type it and a file picker opens. Choose a /CMD-Note export, or plain .md and .txt files. Each text file becomes one note, kept exactly as you wrote it. You can pick several files at once.
If one file can't be read, the others still come in, and a short summary tells you which one failed and why. One bad file doesn't cost you the rest.
The bigger change is what happens to an export when it comes back. Each note keeps its identity and the date you first wrote it, so your list lands in its original order instead of looking brand new. Import the same file twice and you won't get doubles. A note you'd deleted comes back as that note, not as a copy sitting next to it. Import several files and the count adds up the way you'd expect.
To take your notes out, use /exp json. To bring them back in, use /imp.
